Georgia Eliminated from Little League World Series

Being a Georgia girl and only 20 minutes north of Warner Robins, GA, I was very sadden tonight when the Georgia team, which was representing the Southeast division was defeated by Pennsylvania.  In the 6 inning game Pennsylvania got off to an early lead scoring 6 of their 7 runs in the 1st inning.  Jake Fromm's made two-run homer in the 4th inning and when bases were loaded with a batter at the plate in the top of the 5th it looked like Warner Robins just maybe would come and win the game, moving on to the next round of the World Series.   Although Georgia later made a run hoping to top Pennsylvania they were unable to come back as PA held off to win 7-5.  "The first inning we could have played a lot better defense. I don't know if it was the crowd or what, but we couldn't make a play in that first inning," Georgia manager Phillip Johnson said. "That ended up being the difference in the game."

Baseball is a very big deal in Warner Robins, especially Little League, as the Warner Robins team has represented Georgia in the LLWS for years even winning the Little League World Series in 2007.  When watching the game you could see the disappointment in the players and fans faces as they watched Pennsylvania shatter their dreams of winning it all this year.
