Al Davis Passes Away at 82

"Just Win, Baby" -Al Davis

Oakland Raiders' well known owner, Al Davis, passed away Saturday morning in his home at age 82.  Davis was with the Raiders for 50 years as the coach, general manager, and owner of the "bad boy" team of the AFL and NFL.  Under Davis ownership the Raiders appeared in 5 Super Bowls winning 3 of them.  Davis is known for his controversial ways and for his role in the combining of the NFL and AFL. Davis is also known for hiring the first African American and Latino coach in the pro football world.  Al Davis was the AFL's Coach of the Year in 1963 and was also inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1992.

"He is a true legend of the game whose impact and legacy will forever be part of the NFL," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
